Thank you for your question Chris. Glad you enjoyed this article. Setting your clients up with a validation page is a great idea to test their idea to gauge interest. Our approach for a web page to test an idea would be a lot different to the approach above.

The approach outlined on this post above works best when you already have an offer that converts and assumes you have a target audience. So instead of a sales page, I would follow a similar approach to KickStarter to see if there’s a market for a product, by making sure you have clarity with explaining what the product is, what problems / challenges it can solve, how it can help, who it can’t help, have some proof that the product does get results, and give reasons why people should trust the business selling the product, then instead of asking people to pay, I would let them know that you are in the market research phase so that you can improve the product and tailor it to be even more helpful. Then ask them to take a quick survey, similar to the Ryan Lavesque Ask method. That will give you multiple audiences (buckets) that you can tailor your marketing and sales pages to for each bucket.
